Life skills - coming soon in 2009

Outdoor Academy acknowledges the need for development opportunities for students who have been excluded from mainstream education due to behavioural issues, or those with learning difficulties. Our courses provide participants with an overview of one or a number of skilled occupations, by shadowing and working alongside trade professionals. The courses are designed to engage students in technical training and present opportunities to address any personal uncertainties they may have using outdoor activity sessions and team building tasks.

Plumbing course
Students will work with a qualified plumber to plan and construct real working systems.

Mechanics course
A chance to build a real Suzuki 4x4, and on completion, drive it off road.

Landscape gardening
Working outdoors, students will be required to undertake a gardening project in our Elizabethan grounds.
