Our staff team have been delivering residential programmes from the Waterfall Valley near Swansea for over 12 years. The valley offers an idyllic landscape on which to base our multi activity programmes.
Outdoor Academy has maintained close links with local hotels, bunk houses and landowners enabling us to source the most suitable accommodation at the best group rates.
We aim to imitate a wilderness expedition, simulating participants’ passage through the Himalayas. The instructors will function as fellow group members, encouraging individuals to engage in and ‘work through’ the residential experience.

Friday pm: Travel to South Wales, check in
Day 1: Gorge walk, rock climb, quad bike
Day 2: Open canoe the River Wye, rock climb at Symonds Yat, travel home
Waterfall Valley: Mid-week Madness
Day 1: Travel to South Wales, make camp, gorge walk, rock climb, abseil
Day 2: Mountain day at Pen y Fan (the highest mountain in S.Wales), waterfall BBQ
Day 3: Quad bike, surf kayak, beach volleyball, wild camp in a cave
Day 4: Travel to River Wye, open canoe to camp site
Day 5: River Wye open canoeing, travel home
Waterfall Valley: To the Max
Day 1: Travel to South Wales, make camp, gorge walk, rock climb, abseil
Day 2: Mountain day at the Brecon Beacons, wild camp on the mountain
Day 3: Mountain descent, mountain boarding, night fishing
Day 4: Raft build, kayak, archery
Day 5: Quad bike, surf kayak, beach volleyball, wild camp in a cave
Day 6: Mountain bike trail, Balister Challenge, BBQ
Day 7: Travel to Wye Valley, open canoeing
Day 8: Open canoe journey to Symonds Yat, rock climb
Day 9: River Wye open canoeing, travel home
Ufton residential – run from a Mongolian teaching tent and sleeping yurts!
